Kenny Dykes

In 1983 Kenny spent the weekend on a docked 36ft sailboat, since then he dreamed of owning his own sailboat. In 1994 his dream came true, buying his first sailboat at salvage auction, a sunk Chrysler 26. Though he knew nothing on how to sail, he was going to chase his dream. He restored it and launched it at Lake Lavon. Right away he joined LYC and began to crew on other member boats learning to sail, next racing as crew, finally to racing his own boat. He now owns 4 sailboats, has raced regularly the NOOD, Lakefest, Dallas Race Week, Harvest Moon, Heritage Cup and the Leukemia Cup Regattas, is an ASA instructor and has his USCG Master Captains License.
